A: The pool is located on the 5th floor, rooftop of the Aquatic and Recreation Center at the West Hollywood Park.

Q: What is the pool temperature?
A: We stive to keep the pool temperatures as comfortable as possible. The pool temperature may vary based on time of year and weather. 

Q: What is the difference between the Recreation Pool and Competition Pool?
A: The Recreation Pool is a 5 lane graduated depth pool, with a depth of 3 feet and increasing to 7 feet.
The Competition Pool is a 10 lane pool, 7 feet in depth in it's entirety.

Q: What are the pool rules?

Q: What programs are offered at the Aquatics Center?

Q: Do I need a reservation?

A: Every Monday for West Hollywood residents at 9pm the reservations open for the following week online. (Non-Residents on Wednesday 9pm)

Q: When are reservations for Water Fitness available online?

Q: How do I cancel a reservation?
A: In your user profile, under transaction history, select withdraw from activity.

Q: Do we validate parking?
A: Yes, for the 5-Story parking structure located at the cross streets of Melrose and San Vicente.
Validation will give you 1 hour free parking.

Q: Where can I find more information about your programs?
A: The City of West Hollywood's Official City app is available on Google Play or the Apple App
Store and is a great way to access our seasonal Rec Reader. Also available at weho.org/recreation.

Q: Will I need to share a lane?
A: Yes.

Q: How many people do you allow per lane?
A: The lane capacity is 6 swimmers per lane. If there are only 2 people per lane, you may split the lane.
If there are 3 or more people per lane, everyone will need to circle swim.

West Hollywood Aquatics Center GENERAL RULES

• All patrons must be registered on ActiveNet and have a valid ID before entry into the Aquatic Center.

• All patrons must comply with direction and instruction from aquatic staff. 

• All patrons must swim. Shower only is not allowed. 

• Children ages 7 and up are not permitted in the locker room of opposite gender. Use of on-deck family restrooms is encouraged.

• Smoking, vaping, and/or alcohol is not allowed at the Aquatic Center.

• Glass, gum, and food are not allowed at the Aquatic Center.  

• Fighting of any kind, physical and/or verbal, and use of profanity is not allowed at the Aquatic Center. 

• Please walk while at the Aquatic Center. Running is not allowed for safety reasons. 

• Climbing or sitting on the lifeguard towers and equipment is not allowed.

• Please store bicycles/scooters outside of the Aquatic Center. Bicycles and scooter are not allowed on deck.

• Loudspeakers are not permitted without approval from Aquatic Staff. 

• No animals (even in a small bag or on a leash). For service animal accommodation requests, please contact the Aquatics Supervisor, Cortez Jordan at cjordan@weho.org or the Aquatics Coordinator, Kim Hubbard at khubbard@weho.org 

• All lost and found items will be disposed of weekly.

West Hollywood Aquatics Center SWIMMING RULES

• No patrons with rashes, open sores, or bandages will be permitted to swim

• All oil, grease, and foreign substances must be removed from your body before entering the pool

• Only appropriate, clean swim wear allowed in pool with approval of pool management

• No diving

• No playing or sitting on steps or ladders in the pool

• No rough play, pushing, or dunking

• No artificial swimming flotation devices or foreign play equipment

• No spitting, spouting water, or blowing nose in the pool

• No hanging/sitting/pulling on lane lines

• Diving blocks for use only by permitted user groups

• All patrons must have a valid ID to create an ActiveNet account in order to enroll in programs and use facility.

• The swim test is given for Recreational Swims; upon passing, swimmers will be allowed to swim in the deep end of the pool

• Children under the age of 10 (under 4 feet) must always be accompanied by an adult on a 1:2 ratio, the adult must always be within one arm’s length of both children whether in water and on deck. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied/supervised by parent/guardian that is 18 years or older.

• No urinating/defecating in pool

• No excessive breath holding

West Hollywood Aquatic Center - Code of Conduct

The City of West Hollywood Aquatic Center is committed to providing positive visitor experiences. The purpose of establishing this Code of Conduct is to provide and maintain a safe environment where people can participate in City programs and utilize the Aquatics Center to comply with the following standards of civil behavior at all times while on the premises. We strive for positive visitor experiences.

 Aquatic Center visitors agree to abide by this Code of Conduct each and every time they access the Aquatic Center.

1. Demonstrate respect, common courtesy to fellow pool visitors, program participants, community members and staff regardless of their individual opinion or ethnicity, national origin, race, sexual identity, age, religion or disability.
2. Abide by facility rules, program rules and staff direction at all times.
3. Adhere to all posted signs for information and/or instruction at the Aquatic Center including any safety, State and/or local health orders that may be in effect regarding the use of the Aquatic Center.
4. Exhibit care and concern for the safety and well-being of fellow pool visitors and staff creating a sense of community goodwill and citizenship.
5. Maintain an environment where conflict and differences can be addressed in a respectful manner.
6. Abide by reservation policies and or provisions of the Aquatic Center. 

The following inappropriate behaviors may result in voluntary or involuntary loss of access and/or use of the Aquatic Center, or removal from participation in programs temporarily or permanently.

1. Abuse, harassment, threats, including conduct that could be perceived or constructed as such including but not limited to disrespectful, threating, abusive or intimidating behavior, loud, disruptive, offensive or insulting language and/or gestures or quarreling, challenging to fight or fighting in the facility.
2. Engaging in any activity or behavior prohibited by law, City policy or facility rule.
3. Disruptive or unsafe behavior, including any conduct that interferes with the use or enjoyment of pool users or city staff.
4. Activities or behaviors that results or could result in injury or harm to a pool visitor or staff.
5. Improper use of the restrooms, which, in addition to those activities prohibited by law, includes that restrooms may not be used for personal bathing, for sleeping purposes, or as laundry facilities, since the restrooms must remain accessible for their intended purposes.  
6. Activities or behavior that could result in damage to the facility, equipment and/or property of a pool visitor or staff.
7. Disruptive, defiant, or nefarious activities, including but not limited to viewing pornographic materials, making sexual references, sexually implicit remarks or gestures, or using profane or vulgar language and/or making obscene signs or gestures directed towards pool visitors or city staff.
8. Stealing, taking or driving away any property of the City or another person without consent.
9. Use and/or sale of drugs, drug paraphernalia, smoking, alcohol, and/or being under the influence of such while at the Aquatics Center.
10. Any other violation of any section of the City’s Municipal Code or California State Penal Code. 
11. Willful and/or repeated behavior that is prohibited by law or the county of Los Angeles
12. Intervention by law enforcement, including possible arrest and prosecution noncompliance following a verbal warning may result in a customer being asked to leave for the day or a longer period of time.

     

    The City of West Hollywood reserves the right to remedy violations of this Code of Conduct.

     

Consequences

1. Any violation of these facility rules of conduct verbal warning period notification of violation and reference to the facility rules of conduct
2. Immediate eviction from the Aquatic Center immediate eviction shall mean removal from the Aquatic Center, and banishment from any other Parks and Recreation facility, for the remaining hours of operation for the day of the eviction.
3. Suspension of Aquatic Center privileges suspension of Aquatic Center privileges may include but is not limited to denial of access to the Aquatic Center and all aquatic services for one or more days. The effective date and length of suspension will be determined by the Aquatics supervisor, depending upon the scope and severity of the violation, and such notice suspension shall be made in writing.

    

Appeals: To appeal a suspension, please email the Aquatics Supervisor, Cortez Jordan at cjordan@weho.org and the Aquatics Coordinator, Kim Hubbard, at khubbard@weho.org.

Refund/Credit Policy:

• Please send written notice via email to wehoaquatics@weho.org at least 10 days before the program's start date.
• If the facility is closed for an unforeseen reason, the swim lesson for that date or dates will be credited or refunded to the patrons account. We will no longer provide make-up lessons, credits, or refunds for any dates missed by patrons for any reason. All class withdrawals must be requested 10 days before the started of the swim lesson date with a $5 withdrawal fee. No transfers or make-up classes are permitted.

WeHo Lap Swim

Adult lane swimming scheduled for 55-minute sessions. Age limit 16+ for this program. Reservation capacity is 3 people per lane (we reserve the right to have a maximum of 6 people per lane based on staff's discretion if necessary).

Standby Policy - If you do not have a reservation, you can utilize the "standby" option. If you are interested in standing by, you need to be present at the facility. If someone with a reservation does not show within the first 10 minutes of their reservation time, their spot will be given to someone on standby, on a first come, first serve basis, after payment, as long as the program participant maximum is not exceeded. Entrance into the facility using the standby option is not guaranteed.

Admittance to each lap swim session will conclude after 45 minutes. Admittance to a session adjacent to a closure will conclude after 30 minutes. All patrons participating in the last session will be given a 20 minute grace period after their swim. After the 20 minutes the facility will be closed, and all patrons will be asked to exit the facility.

Fee Increase Notice 

Effective October 1, 2025, the Aquatic Center will no longer offer the monthly pass for non-residents. We will be introducing a new pass. This new pass is $10 for 10 swims. This change does not affect other passes. If you have been issued keychain scan card, you can keep your scan card. No further action is required.

Private Swim Lessons - Offered Year Round

• One-on-one private 25-minute swim lessons scheduled by individual date. Each lesson is individually catered to the student and their desired focus for the lesson. Swim Instructor requests are not available.
  • Ages: 4 and up

StarBabies/StarTots  (Parent/Child) - Offered from March thru October (varies depending on weather)

• Introducing your young one to an aquatic environment as early as possible sets the groundwork for a future of comfortably enjoying water. These classes focus specifically on water acclimation and basic safety for you and your child around water. Classes focus on getting your little one comfortable in a pool setting. Songs and games accompany information about general aquatic safety for your youngster. Instruction on cued entries, kicks, floats, and bubbles will give them a chance to play and feel safe with you and others in the water. For the health and safety of all of our pool users, reusable waterproof diapers are required for children younger than three. *A parent/guardian must accompany child in the water during the lesson*
  • Ages:
    • StarBabies at least 6 months but less than 2 years
    • StarTots at least 2 years but less than 4 years

Swim School for Preschoolers

• Designed to meet the needs of children ages 3 to 5, this course will develop a high comfort level in the water and a readiness to swim, and for those children who are developmentally ready, it will teach functional swim skills. Students work towards developing the five competencies and progress towards achieving the benchmarks at their own pace in a small-group setting.

Swim School

WeHo Recreation Swim

Open-structured family swim held in the Recreation Pool. All ages welcome; participants ages 10 & younger must be within arm's reach of parent/guardian at all times; participants ages 11-15 must be accompanied by parent/guardian in the facility at all times. A ratio of no more than two children to one parent/guardian must be observed while in the water.

This program is offered during the summer season.

In this program, participants will be introduced to the duties and responsibilities of a lifeguard and learn about pool safety, First Aid, CPR, stroke refinement and water rescue skills. This program will also focus on teaching participants the importance of discipline, team-work, leadership, personal fitness, nutrition and creating new friendships. *If this is your first time registering with us, please provide proof of age in the form of a legal document (birth certificate, ID, Medical Card). Copies will not be accepted. You must show proof the first day of Splash Camp and the Jr. Lifeguard program.*

Ages: At least 9 but less than 18

BLAST is a year-round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for ages 6-18. The goal of our team is to provide every swimmer an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at their own personal level of ability from novice to international competitor.

Led by a philosophy that hard work, consistency, dedication and good sportsmanship are requirements for great success, swimmers, coaches and families must work and bond together as a team to achieve the maximum level of success.
