Money influences both artistic careers and the projects artists create. This second of five WeHo Artist Roundtable Workshops explores the financial structures supporting creative life, addressing both personal finances and the funding of artistic work. The workshop opens with a seminar-style presentation, providing an overview of personal finance tracking and tools that support creative workers in managing income, expenses, and the realities of freelance financial life. The second half of the workshop focuses on project-based funding, offering guidance on how artists structure budgets, identify potential funding sources, and think strategically about the financial design of their work.
Participants will leave with a clear understanding of both personal and project level financial strategies that support artistic practice, along with examples of the many financial pathways artists have used to sustain their work and a virtual folder of resources for further education!
