SUMMARY:Wesleigh Gates presents "Frequencies of Survival"
DESCRIPTION:Frequencies of Survival is a transfem-forward program of music, conversation, and community, channeling trans rage into sonic rebellion. Curated in dialogue with Trans Day of Visibility, the program highlights the possibilities of sound and noise (rather than visual strategies) for responding to current attacks on trans life and building community solidarity. Programming includes performances by an improvisational noise music ensemble; a panel conversation of artists and activists on trans survival and thriving; a panel conversation of DJs and nightlife workers on navigating visibility; and a closing DJ set for dancing and mixing. Throughout the program, local West Hollywood and Los Angeles trans community organizations will be on site tabling, offering resources and opportunities to connect and engage.

Frequencies of Survival is co-presented by TSLUR (Transfems in Solidarity Leading Unconventional Research) and Aural Displeasure. The program is supported in part by an arts grant from the City of West Hollywood, with additional support from Drag Arts Lab.

Tickets: General Admission $15; Students and WeHo residents $10; free entry for guests identifying under the trans umbrella

For tickets and more information: https://www.instagram.com/t.s.l.u.r

Staff: Eva Angeloff, 323-848-6354, eangeloff@weho.org
